We knew that we wanted to find ways to give back when we created our business. We never really discussed how we planned to do that or had any specific charity on our mind. We were introduced to the Angels Among Us event by another vendor. We signed up knowing it was for a good cause and because we heard the other vendors were really nice (which is always a plus) and everyone sells really well.
The Angels Among Us events are held monthly and raise money for the Angel Tree to help families that have lost a loved one by suicide. I started thinking about all the people I knew that have lost their life by suicide. I was a little shocked when I was counting past 2, 3, 4, 5.... And, I am not counting actors, singers, or other famous people in the media. I have trouble believing I am not in the norm.
Then I read Micke's story, https://www.facebook.com/oneangelatatime/ and why she started doing these events. It is impossible to even put yourself in her shoes. Her story is heartbreaking and it is happening to other families at an alarming rate.
Suicide is listed in the top 10 causes of death in the US, according to the CDC. Yet, it isn't talked about. I hope that changes soon. I hope that someday we can openly talk about depression or mental illness the same way that we talk about having diabetes or high blood pressure. I think that is where we need to start. Until, then I hope we can help raise money and awareness to the Angel Tree and help families that have lost a loved one to suicide.

I love your products. I am allergic to many soaps and yours have kept me healthy, smelling good and itch free! I am happy to see that you support One Angel at a Time. A cause near and dear to me as I have lost 2 siblings to suicide. Keep up the good work!
